Certified Businesses Recognized at Carlsbad City Council!
On April 28th, 2026, The Carlsbad City Council publicly recognized 14 local businesses and organizations that earned their Green Business Certification and received a Proclamation signed by the Mayor. Businesses received a great photo opportunity with the City Council!
Eleven organizations were certified for the first time and three were recertified. That brings the total number of Certified Green Businesses and buildings in Carlsbad to 72!
Congratulations to these newly Certified Green Businesses:
- Always Hungry Grocery & Goods
- Aptera Motors
- Carlsbad Village Association
- City of Carlsbad Library Learning Center
- The French Door Café
- Learn to Sew Studio
- Purely Sauce
- Shear Karma (two locations)
- SoCal Cameras
- STEM Aviation Academy
- SynergEyes (two locations)
Businesses must complete a full recertification every four years to show that their sustainable practices remain in place or have been enhanced. These businesses were recertified this year:
- Activ8
- Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation
- Morrison Insurance Services
One of our recertified businesses, Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, increased their certification level to Innovator Tier. Innovator businesses further demonstrate their environmental leadership by consciously reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, working towards net-zero sustainability, and implementing practices that promote social equity.
